It seems that Colin Krum has disappeared from the revolving door job that is Flight Club. Anybody know what's going on over there?

I guess you can say that Flight Club’s authors, took off?

I read this as “fight club” so I don’t know what that says about me.

It means that you got their pun.

I’m not certain. Is it still a double entendre if the secondary entendre was the only one received?

An interesting question, but I’m not sure it qualifies as a double entendre. I think it’s just a pun.

I’d recommend you, but based on what has happened to them I’d prefer you to stay off the Jelopnic payroll or you’ll vanish too.

Thanks, and thanks. My interests in aviation are mostly historical, and I don’t have to time to find and write up aviation puff pieces. Besides, the pay probably isn’t that good.

There’s got to be a better term for that sort of pun allusion, though you’re right it’s not quite a d.e. Although, that gets me thinking - do the French qualify the term
double entendre
as narrowly as we do in English?

Je ne sais pas.

I would sure love to contribute some articles over there...

That’s disappointing. His articles were well researched and well written, and I was hoping that it was a sign that they were taking non-military aviation reporting semi-seriously.
Nope.

I was hoping that they might pick up my bi-weekly aviation history posts. A couple of them have been shared to Jalopnik, but that’s it.

They should! I had assumed those were posted over there too. I don’t check out fc too often, even though I’m slightly more wing nut than car nut.

“No one uses the phrase “double entendre” in France (it literally means “double heard”). They’d say double sens.”
This came up in a British TV Quiz show QI with Stephen Fry

Nope, just Oppo. That’s okay, though. It’s more of a hobby for me than anything else.

Good to know.

Was he replaced by Sam Slice?
