I did this in my Alfa spider once, but it was a narrower box.
My dad needed some roof vent piping for a house and i wanted to be difficult (as i normally am) so i took the passenger seat and folded it up and i was able to cram the box in between the seat and the rear of the interior. The only problem i ran into was the seats weren’t made to be folded up while you drive so the seat hits the shifter when you go into 5th.
