So Oppo I traded my MR2 for a Toyota Corolla SR5 and the SR5 ran but it blew up when I got it home. The sprocket pin was sheared off by the cam and the engine has no compression now. I wish I never went through with this trade and I really want my MR2 back at this point. What can I do?

You can fix the SR5. Unless the problem was known at the time of the trade, you're SOL.

It was know that it cranked alot but did not start. I got it to start by holding the spark wires at a angle and tapping the starter. The problem snowballed into this. I should of put 2 and 2 together when he told my the lights on the dash went out. I was frustrated with my mr2.

Without knowing much about your specific engine problem...I think it’s unlikely he didn’t know about it when he sold it to you. The odds of it just happening to blow right after you got it home seem low.
I’d wager he knew, and tried to fix it just enough to fraud some unlucky person. I don’t know what you can do about it though.

That’s a good idea. He might throw it in your face, but you’re already out an engine so it’s worth a shot. Don’t be an ass about it and maybe he’ll do the right thing :)

Yeah, its worth a shot. I’ll be polite to him and calmly tell him whats up. If he says no I should start a gofundme for a 4AGE swap lol.
