My friend is looking into buying a Mustang and he has his eyes set on this one. I personally would not want to buy someone else’s project. But what say you Oppo. NP o CP?

That thing screams CP

CP and waaaaaay too rice. You might want to remind him that he can get more power from a modern Camry these days.

I like the Honda that EssExTee posted way more. It’s also less money. And more fun.

Well it is a bit high for the year, probably a grand high. It does have a lot into it, as such Id want to actually see how it rides. Either way the price is decent and if it looks good why not bite.

kill it with fire.
Wow still can’t believe that was a thing to paint interior plastics.
American Rice?

Yeah but a Camry costs a lot more and doesn’t look as cool.

Every time I see a car that’s at least somewhat interesting and see exterior-matched interior plastics, I just think to myself...

A Camry looks cooler than that riced out SN95.

I almost did it when I was 16. It was totally a thing in the early 2000s.

This mustang was built. It was not birthed, grown, or synthesized
![]() 09/16/2015 at 15:53 |

Yeah it looks pretty bad I think
![]() 09/16/2015 at 15:56 |

I disagree. This looks much better, and it’s AWD and turbo’d. ;)
![]() 09/16/2015 at 15:59 |

That’s not even true. The current Camry makes less by about 37 bhp assuming this Mustang was stock, which it isn’t.

Depends how much he wants to continue a project car.
In any case, take it to a mechanic. If the mechenic has any reservations at all, drop it. Unless of course he plans to "make it his own" anyway...

Assuming that you get the I4 instead of the V6, which exists and has 50 mpre HP than the Mustang.

...maybe cheaper too.
![]() 09/16/2015 at 16:04 |

Well his friend likes it and that’s what’s important. And all Camrys look like crap.

I print my Mustangs.

I don’t care about if his friend likes it. It was posted here as a NPoCP thread, which means that I get to piss all over this pickup truck suspension playing dress-up as a sports car. What’s the point of NPoCP if not to either talk about how great or how shitty a car is?
![]() 09/16/2015 at 16:07 |

Doubtful. If you can find a Camry All Trac available it’ll likely run you a pretty penny.
![]() 09/16/2015 at 16:10 |

Maybe. I forgot that they even put the AllTrac in these. Could be a cheap way to get the parts for AllTrac’ing a normal Celica. They’re rare, but I don’t think they’re in demand.

Yeah. I love the Camry AllTrac wagons. So funky and awesome.

You are correct, for whatever autos.msn.com didn’t list the V6. Still I imagine the power figure on that Mustang are easily to match with the Camry V6 and it’s RWD.

My mom had a Camry wagon of that vintage. I don’t think it was 4WD though.

Fair enough. Still don’t really see anything truly CP apart from questionable taste in colors of the interior. I glossed over that since the friend appeared to like it. The price could probably be dropped down even lower, it’s pretty much why the hell not money.

As someone with experience with these, all of the mechanical mods are pretty standard upgrades. I agree that the 50 dollars or so to take this to a mechanic to ensure the mods where done correctly would be a wise investment. Check spark plug clearance of the headers, since GT40p heads are notorious for angled plugs.
Everyone screaming rice is doing so because of the interior. One trip to a scrap yard and 70 bucks or less later, replace the interior. It’s some clips and screws.
The clutch, straight pipes, and rear end gearing will make driving for long periods of time not as comfy, but those are also able to be changed, each for 200 or less if the mood for DIY should strike.
The part that worried me is the combo massive speaker and underdrive pulleys. “Let’s use a ton of power for speakers! Yay! Now let’s produce...less electricity... Yay?” If there’s a multibattery system in the trunk, just stop right there.
Also, he claims a lot of name brand stuff. See if he can back it up with receipts. If it’s as declared, this car has a Nice price.

NP IF it really does have “184” miles on it. Otherwise, no.
