I figure most of you probably already have one of these, but for those that don’t:
I have some OPPO vinyl decals available, exterior mounted. Currently the only color available is orange, but I might do some other runs later. They’re about 2” tall, and 6” long. Currently priced at $4 shipped, to anywhere in the world; I’ve sent decals to every continent in the world at this point, excluding Antarctica.

Otherwise, I have some of the last batch of Jalopnik vinyl still available.

2001, base model 5-speed, 220k miles. It’s going to be replaced soon, possible with another Golf.

Probably the same engine and transmission that I have in my 2012 base Golf, honestly. How’s maintenance been after 100k?

About what you’d expect from VW. Mostly issues with oil leaks. Replaced numerous head gaskets, had the crankcase seal replaced once years ago, I’m sure it needs another. Frankly, we haven’t been that serious about maintenance in the last few years, but it just keeps going. Lots of little things have broken: the driver door latch, the wires to the rear defroster/wiper, the headliner has fallen (I stapled it up). The AC still blows cold, but the insulation has long since come off the blend door and I don’t get any heat, which isn’t really that much of a problem in TX. The front end is all orginal and completely shot, but not worth the money to repair it. It’s really just a DD beater right now, but as I said, it just keeps running, and I’ll be driving it on a 500 mile round trip this coming weekend. I don’t expect any problems (knock on wood).
