As i was following a newish mustang down the road yesterday, I noticed how it resembled the old ‘70s Celicas. Yes I know that Celicas were built to resemble the US muscle cars, so yeah...
But anyway. It got me thinking. I know Datsun/Nissan was thinking of bringing the 510 back, but decided not to. What if Toyota pulled it off with a new, retro Celica. I think they could really do well with it. Make a “muscle car” version of the Toyobaru platforms?
What do you think?

I’d definitely love to see that.
There are things I’ve wanted to do to my FR-S to give it some accents that are throwbacks to the 2000GT and TA22 Celica GTs.
Fender mount side-view mirrors
, like the ones on the SpeedHunters FR-S, and
TRD Tosco wheels
. Unfortunately the mirrors were never produced, and the TRD wheels were only produced in very limited numbers and are very expensive/rare. :(
For the time being I’ll go with a set of
Enkei Compe-8s
, and eventually some
Watanabe F8Fs
.
(Sorry for nothing but links. Kinja hates my work computer and won’t let me insert pics.)

I would definitely be interested.
