Let me double down on the haterade.

Today where I live, it was an absolutely perfect day 66-75 for most of it, not a cloud in the sky. The type of day that made me contemplate grabbing a Sawzall and making my own Murano Crosscabriolet. Yet, the only 2 convertible tops I saw down today was a E-type in it’s natural habitat (on the back of a flatbed) and a //M badged E46 330ci. WHAT THE HELL PEOPLE?!? What the fuck is wrong with you? You were likely one button push away from the whole reason you bought a convertible in the first place. But Longbow, this doesn’t effect you blablablah. It does effect me. It effects everyone. This is like watching someone bash their head into a wall and you expect me to ignore that? no. There is an intrinsic joy that open topped motoring brings. On a day like today watching people willingly ignore that joy that is (again, ONE MOVEMENT AWAY), just painful. Like watching someone turn down ice cream to finish off a bucket of warm lard. It doesn’t make any god damned sense. When things don’t make sense, I get irrational. I get mad at random strangers for their choices, I get mad at their stupid faces making stupid noises like breathing. Most worrisome I get so irrational that I re-consider making a Crosscabriolet. That’ll show them. That’ll show them all.

I didn’t bother dropping the top on my Miata when I was going to be highway driving. All it does is deafen you and mess up your hair. Not fun at all.

Today I was working at a community college campus. There was a Nissan 240sx I think, clean and plate read 90STOCK. it made my day.

I didn’t take the top off of my car because it’s a real pain in the butt to undo 4 screws and hope that the top goes back on without fuss.

Every opportunity I get to drive the Camaro vert at work I do so, even if its a bit chilly - heated seats and heated air were invented for a reason.

Oh and also because it has the worst visibility with the top up outside the supercar kingdom.

are you high? ive driven four hours straight top down at 80 and it was amazing. miatas aren’t designed to have the top up.

They make sunglasses that are designed to fit over regular glasses. Got mine at like Walgreens for a few bucks. They’re really fugly but I love mine and they’re essential to driving a car for me. Because of the wraparound to fit over the glasses, they keep light out of the top and sides very well.
