At first I thought it was an odd looking and rather dirty Ram ProMaster conversion. Then I got closer, saw the Swiss plate and realized it was a Fiat Ducato. I waved to the older couple as I drove by and took my exit. Neat.

I saw a Renault camper van on I-40 near Nashville once. I know it had Euro plates, but I couldn’t tell what country because it was on the other side of the interstate at a rest stop. Also, years ago, I saw a big Mercedes RV two seconds away from my house in Memphis. It had German plates and a big German flag in the window. Thought it was the coolest thing ever.

In Yellowstone I saw a Hymer Ford Transit Camper, a whole bunch of Nissan X-Trails, a Mercedes Sprinter Conversion from Bimobil, and a BMW Vixen (but that’s not exactly Euro market only....) Foreign cars in the states are so cool!

Several years ago now I came upon what looked like a Toyota Hilux based Class-C in a weird shade of shiny olive green. It had Euro plates but I can't remember which country.

The Darien gap is no obstacle to a true 4x4 enthusiast.
In 20 years when I can afford to have parts helicoptered in, would you want to come with? (Has no idea whose comment that was and is too lazy to check.)
