Contemplate the ultra rare Suzuki Fronte 800.
Three cylinder, two-stroke engine. Front wheel drive. Hand built. Classy. Exclusive. Only 2717 built.
Suzuki lacked the production capacity to build the car, so they had to be built largely by hand and this made them unprofitable. Unlike the smaller Suzulights, the 800’s engine was water cooled, along the lines of DKW and SAAB engines - even including the overhead fanshaft and radiator behind the engine. It was the only front wheel drive car in its class in Japan (indeed the only non-kei front driver until the Subaru 1000 came out).
