I am planning a cross country road trip and I want to visit car culture related places along the lines of the Pistenklause in Nurburg.

So far some of my ideas are:

Classic Car Club Manhattan (New York)

Seneca Lodge (New York)

Tail of the Dragon (Tennessee)

National Corvette Museum (Kentucky)

Give me more cool ideas in the comments below!

If you're coming down south, Birmingham has Barbers museum if you're into motorcycles.

Visiting Tohru’s Tuning Shop in Wisconsin? Specializing in rusty Toyotas and questionable 90’s GM cars.

Bonneville. Though there is only a window of a couple months, and the rest is undriveable.

Route 66

Lots of great stuff in the Bay Area... Laguna Seca in Monterey, Canepa Design in Scotts Valley, Alice’s Restaurant in Woodside.

The Barber is awesome, and I'm not even into motorcycles. Also, drive north on I-65 for a few hours and you can see the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville.

I live kinda close to barbers but somehow never go that often. I’ve been wanting to go to lane motor museum for a while. I’ll go eventually.

The Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Museum in Auburn, Indiana is by far the best car related place I’ve ever been to.

L.A., petersen museum. Plus you’ll see a bunch of different enthusiasts cars when you’re in the LA metro area.

My recommendation last time they asked was simply the metro area. It was/is the epicenter of much of car and freeway culture, so the local culture is intertwined with car culture. Average people are often car enthusiasts to some degree because they are critical to life there.

It’s also a place where your car is more important, socially, than your house/zip code.
