Well, Oppo, here’s what’s going on in the world of two wheels. I had four bites on my CL post. One guy got the itch to ride again after borrowing his cousin’s Harley. I felt really good about this guy getting my bike, he priced out a worst case scenario repair and we were ready to do the deal as I was moving from my apartment. We spoke multiple times over the weekends and talked again the day I was moving out. A few hours after we talked in the morning he texted, backing out.

Second guy met me the next day and offered me 40% of what I was asking (my price was already a good deal according to the other 3) and wouldn’t budge. He proceeded to tell me everything he would do to fix it up for his buddy to use.

I’ve decided to use that info to fix it myself. If I can get it started then I’ll work on cosmetic fixes and touch ups. If I can’t start it. I’ll have it fixed. Regardless, I want it running before I try to sell it again but given the value of the bike I may keep it and fix it up gradually over the years.

With this plan in mind, I need to move the bike from my old apartment...yeah...to my family’s house. Nobody I know has a truck or trailer hitch so I was going to rent one or both. Then my gf gave me an idea (she asked about AAA) and I called my insurance. Roadside assistance is in my plan! Free within 15 miles, which it is.

Call at 12:45, told pickup at 2:26. 2:26 comes and an automated messagefrom Progressive asks if my tow has arrived. No. Do I want to speak with the company picking it up? Sure.

I am told 10-15 minutes.

45 minutes later, my bike is getting loaded onto the flatbed.

Kinja'd!!!

20 minutes later and it is home.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Hopefully I can get it running so I can give more updates.

That’s a great bike.

Good for you for taking the fix on yourself. Only issue is that if you fix it, you’ll never want to sell it then.
