Yep! They moved their shop to California, which surprised me. It’s my favorite car show by far, even though Mike annoys me.

California? That sucks, there are enough American car shows already. Having them in the UK adds diversity and results in (imho) more interesting cars.

Less interesting to American Audiences, I would bet the European Audiences find them working on a Desoto Hemi, Ford F1, 67 Pontiac GTO as interesting as we find the BMW M1, Lancia Delta, and Morgan.

I’m not so sure. It was nice having a show focusing on cars that are widespread in Europe. Almost every car made me look up used prices. Capris, M5s, 928s or dogbone Escorts are our dream cars, a De Soto or F1 not so much. I liked watching them for the idea of learning about a car that I might actually buy one day.

Great news! I mentioned them in a Jalopnik article yesterday and got overwhelmingly positive replies. Moved to CA? I guess they’ve fixed everything there is to fix in Europe. I’m not that crazy about the American car builds, but I can see how the European audience would find them as interesting as we find the European cars.

I can see that, in the early days when they stuck to a low budget, however, in the later seasons, they are spending more. Ferraris and Lambos even the cheap ones aren’t all that cheap

I read that a few minutes ago. It’s what made me check if there were any news on that front.

Is that move to Cali a permanent one? I’m not to sure about it, to be honest. I liked the fact that it was one of the very few European based car shows and that they focused on the cars of MY youth. Seeing a De Soto or Ford F1 thrown in the mix once in a while is nice but they just don’t do what a Delta, Capri or dogbone Escort do to me.

No idea about the move to CA. This is the first I’ve heard of it. I knew they were doing American cars, and I wondered if they were really shipping them all back to England.

Exactly! I guess you watched that episode much more closely than one with some CamaroSotoTruck-thing.

I started watching the Aldsud episode and that one was shot in the UK. Seems like the move to Cali was only temporary (as I always suspected).

Seems like that was only temporary, like their other foreign adventures. I just started watching the Alfasud episode, and it was shot in the UK.

Oh wow, I actually own two. E30 Touring. Didn’t see this one before:

Agreed about the American vehicles. Very much not my cup of tea, unlike the 80s European market stuff.

Oh yeah, the E30 touring episode. I watched that probably 5-10 times over the years. I used to download the early ones and still have them on a usb drive.

I wonder if they’ll be doing shows out of both then. That way they can mix up the cars they do on the show, without going to the expense and trouble of shipping cars back to the UK like they did several times. That would please me quite a bit. I’m really an American car guy, but I enjoy seeing them work on stuff I’ve never seen too.

They simply referred to it as their, “California workshop”. I’m thinking maybe they’ll be doing episodes from both from now on. I think that would be good.
