This morning I was going to Farm and Fleet here in Dubuque, Ia when in the back of the lot was a Rosso Corsa 360. I park our car, a Ford Five Hundred, let my wife and daughter go to the store so I could take a few photos of the amazing 360, rare site here in Dubuque, which I will share below. I took the photos, and was walking to the store when I walked by a guy, asked if it was his, in which his reply was yes. To my amazement, he was a down to earth guy, showed me around his 360, answered my questions, then he changed my life forever, he gave me a half hour ride in the red beauty. I have tried to get rides in Ferraris before, but was always shot down. The ride was amazing, it was everything I had ever hoped, and this fan boy was dazed in emotions I have never felt before. I didn’t even care if my wife was pissed that I left her to go in the store alone, I did text her, but she had left her phone in our car. The owner was very nice, humble guy, who shared his joy with me, and answered every question I had about the car and the ownership experience. I now understand in full why these cars are special, and some day I hope to fulfill my dream of ownership. Passing these emotional on to others, because they are truly amazing.

It’s so easy to sneer at exotic cars, but as soon as you experience one for yourself, you get it. Sounds like you had an awesome time!

Have you found your child again yet?

It was amazing, something special, I love cars, and this just reminded why I do.

Yes, I have never felt so young, or careless in long time as he was getting on it, each pull of the paddle, each note coming out of the Tubi exhaust system, it was life changing. Like I am still on a high.

That’s how you own a supercar. Good on him, and glad for you.

That’s awesome. I live in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area. Incidentally, my boss has a 360 that he has said we’ll take out sometime, but we haven’t had the chance yet.

I actually misread and thought you sent your daughter into the store alone and then rode around in a Ferrari, but that’s good too.

Wait till he gives you a ride, and you will understand.

What an awesome guy to give you a half hour ride. Was your wife pissed?

Don’t remember, don’t care. I still haven’t came down from the high the ride gave me, and I don’t want to.
She knows that I love F1, and that Ferrari is my favorite team, Alonso is my favorite driver, so I am sure she is understanding that I took the offer.

I’m sure she was okay with it. Absolutely.

I still cant believe it. The guy was so humble, and I wasn’t expecting it. I was keeping an open mind, but there are douche bag owners around that ruin the image of exotic car ownership, and this guy was just none of that. He wasn’t acting like he was better than me, he just shared his Ferrari, or love, with me as if we were friends. I’ve never met the guy before, I got his name at the end of the journey, I have seen his car a few times. It was amazing, and someday, I hope to get to do it again.

Yeah, we do put supercar owners in a douchebag category. Your experience shows how wrong we are. You were fortunate to meet a good person.

Awesome! I love the 360. Against popular opinion, most of the exotic car owners whom I have met have been really cool. I worked part time as a valet for a lot of years and through that I got to drive a lot of cars that cost more than my house! Some of the guys would even ask us to fill their cars up with gas!

I was gonna ask if I could drive it around the lot, but I didn’t want to overextend my reach. It was nice enough that he gave me a ride.

Yea that was super cool of him. I’ve only driven 2 Ferraris outside of a parking lot, a 360 (manual), and a 612 Scaglietti (paddles). The 612 was neat obviously, but the 360 was much more of an experience. The sound of that screaming V8 behind you...can’t beat it!

His had Tubi exhaust, so every pull on the paddle was a new emotion. I just couldn’t believe it.

Ah, the Farm & Fleet —’twas my mother-in-law’s favorite store while she was alive. My wife still makes us go when we are back in Iowa, just to reconnect with her mom (I think that’s it as we never seem to buy anything there that isn’t available someplace else).
Oh, this post was supposed to be about Ferraris.

Awesome! I just wrote an article about how it's not right to judge super car or exotic owners and that many are great, down to earth guys. Very happy to read this!

I hear that the guy who owns the Aventador, runs a pyramid scheme.
