I’m currently working on my Law Master’s Degree at !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and I can safely say 85% of my peers drive premium (for Brazil) hatchbacks: 35% are Focus Titaniums ($24k), 50% are VW Golfs ($25k) and some TSi Jettas ($26k). I’m the weirdo with a 12 year old Land Rover.

So after you graduate are you going to leave Brazil?

Probably not, law degrees are pretty much useless outside the country the were achieved in and I want to be a diplomat here.

At my university nobody had a car. Except for the weird foreign guy who’s now (14 years later) my brother in law, but I digress. We all had bicycles and free public transportation passes. I probably delayed a phase, as I now drive a Focus Titanium (diesel/manual/wagon) as a company car.

But that is because your country is developed and your city not as big as São Paulo. If you ride a bike to university here there are chances you might die (run over/ shot/ heat-stroke/ exhaustion).
