It’s hit or miss really.

Giving I’ve spent a ton more time under the hood then on it’s appearance, some people just think it’s a “shitty old car”. A buddy of mine (at the time, we’ve since stopped hanging out, for good reason) damn near climbed out the window to attack someone for yelling “move that big P.O.S!”. Of course he was driving a mid 90’s saturn and I didn’t have the engine or exhaust upgrades in place yet, so it was very, very mild. But, the ones who know what to look for have a tendency to snap their head around pretty quick.

I always wonder about this myself though, what’s the “cool” thing to do these days? Are thumbs up’s lame now?!

I reserve the thumbs up for the classic cars and obscure things. There was an old 911 driving along that I was about to pass. I felt the need to let him know how gorgeous it was so once I passed I changed lanes, gave him a nice long thumbs up (so he wouldn’t mistake it for something else), waved then went on my way.

I have no idea what’s hip or cool but it doesn’t matter cuz with the age range for enthusiasts and the universal language of THAT IS COOL, anything goes.
