I thought it would be cool to get a blue tooth OBDII scanner for my car and pair it with the torque app that can show you all sorts of useful data while you are driving your car. Especially since my phone screen is so large and I just ordered a car mount. But my car is 2 years too old to have OBDII and the port is under the hood, not the dash. Guess I’ll have to go the racecar route and install extra gauges at some point.

I hope you didn’t spend too much.
I had the same problem. OBDII was introduced in 2001 for my (EU market) car, my car is from 2000. It does have a port under the dash, but it doesn’t work with the bluetooth scanner. It’s not the bluetooth scanner, as it does work with other cars.

There are only two ways to go: actually having OBD II and the toys to go with it, or a car with Megasquirt and a vintage laptop hooked up so you can be like Jeff Goldblum hacking the aliens in Independence Day. Anything else just isn’t cool.

Gah! That’s too bad - I use mine all the time to monitor temps, pressures, and fuel/air ratios.
Sorry!
