Not car related
Yesterday I took my friend to a Vape convention for his birthday. He doesn’t have a car and lives in a rehab center because he can’t walk or work yet. He was a tattoo artist until he broke his hands in a car accident and now he can’t hold the tattoo machines for more than a few minutes without either numbness or nerve pain.
I never vaped in my life. I quit smoking four years ago.
It was easily the single douchiest experience I had in my life. The whole place was full of nicotine fog. I pushed his wheelchair around the convention center and because there was so much e-liquid being blown through the air it was stupidly humid. We left after about an hour. My wife and I both had headaches and felt ill.
He fucking loved it. Good for him.
At least we got to eat some bad-for-us Sheetz MTO stuff. They put marinara and mozzarella sticks on top of a burger. That shit is deliciously disgusting.

The only decent edible that — uh, my friend — ever had was a rice Krispy treat.

There was zero cannabis involved here. This was electronic cigarette stuff.
*edit*
Had there been cannabis involved I probably would not have had such a headache.

You are a good friend to do that.

That's not even the same place but it looked the same. And it smelled like cheap pipe smoke and kool aid. But without the tobacco undertones.

It’s ok. I’m dragging him to the AutoFair in a few weeks. Theme is “30 years of the Bronco 1966-96”
So that'll be fun

The closest Sheetz to me is an hour away. That's better than it used to be though. I used to have to drive to Virginia to get sleaze dogs.

I thought Sheetz was a Pennsylvania thing. No matter, I can say I once drove 60 miles each way to get Red Robin.

Sheetz is awesome.
A bunch of my coworkers vape. I know how you feel. Definitely among the things we do for friends.

It started in Altoona. I grew up in Johnstown and it didn't reach the carolinas until about a decade ago in the research triangle area. Now the closest one to me is in Troutman exit 42 on I-77 in nc

About that food, there are some bars around StLouis area that use grilled cheese sandwiches for the top & bottom bun. Haven't had it yet but sounds glutinous.

Worth it for the Sheetz. They’re all over the place around here. Within a 10 mile radius, there are 5, and a 6th being built. Another 10-15 miles, you can find 2 more.
They’ve got new build-your-own mac and cheese platters where you can mix anything with mac and cheese. Plus, their humor level is on point. I mean, you can’t go wrong with a sandwich called the Walker Breakfast Ranger.

Within ten miles of the neighborhood where I grew up there are at least four, including two almost right across from each other on Scalp Avenue.
