OK so I am stuck at work waiting for the phone to ring and I have lots of time to browse Craigslist for bad ideas, I’m thinking British Engineering today
1982 Triumph TR7 $3000

If that is too much money and too nice but you still want a Triumph I found this Spitfire for $1000 with the factory hardtop
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Maybe those are too old, wel you’re in luck a Jaguar XJS with a nice body for an incedibly low $1700, what could possibly go wrong
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Perhaps Triumphs and Jags aren’t your thing Perhaps you need a Chrome Bumper MG, well for $1100, You can
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
After all what fun is a small convertible if it starts every time, beside those only exist in dreams right?

XJS with a straight body and a 4.0l for $1700? Bite their damn hand off. They’re great cars, and the 4.0 is a much more rounded package than the V12 (although it lacks the 12’s banzai noise with straightpipes).
I'd also take that Spitfire in a heartbeat. It's a hell of a lot less rusty than similarly priced cars over here. Entire floorpans are available as pattern parts as well, so that's not as big an undertaking as you'd think...

They look nice but the engine will blow
