Hope you enjoy Cumbria more than Pete’s experience of the M6. Some nice roads to do are Rhinos Pass and Hard Knott Pass and around Buttermere.

Nice car. Which engine?

Thank you! Yep, some awesome roads up there once the boredom of the M1 and M6 is done.

I wish I could say it’s the 3.2 V6, but it’s actually just the 2.0TDi! It’s a rental, so I’m afraid it doesn’t even have a manual gearbox. Having said that, I took it to a family gathering this weekend and the 8speed auto is pretty amazing. Stick it in manual mode and it downshifts instantly when you hit the paddle.

I think this was meant for ‘sm70’.

2.0 diesel (the usual engine for an A5 on this side of the Atlantic)

Beggars can’t be choosers! It’s a rental, and Avis want CRAZY money for an S5.

You’re right, I’d like to blame Kinja, but it’s probably my fault...

Lol. It’s my fault also, I thought you had replied to me when it was meant for ‘sm70’ but looking now you had replied to yourself.
Anyway. The 2.0TDi is a good engine. The auto is apparently a good box with the DSG being just right. I’ve never driven an auto and don’t wish to but some of the other guys like it.
