This very clean looking Celica, formerly owned by a old lady and garaged during its stay with her, is currently for sale at just £995 (US$1,511).
Might not be a desirable model year of Celica at all, but it looks like a reliable runabout and it’s got popup headlights. I would totally buy this.
Except I’m not in the UK yet and I don’t have the money. Agh.

NP. Pop ups, reliable, a bunch of parts fit AW11s, good gas mileage, cool looking... It might not be a real sports car, but it’s probably a perfectly good car. Too bad it’s the 2.0 instead of the 1.6 though. The 1.6 GT is the one you want because 4AGE.

I’ll argue with you on that. You want to find a GTS version with the 3S-GE motor, providing you can’t find an alltrac that is. The 3S-GE produced 135hp with a 6,800 rpm redline. I owned one for a few years, they are a blast.

Yeah, but it’s a GT. Of the GTs, the 1.6 is the one you want. Personally, I’d take the 1.6 over an NA 3S as well. The 4AGE makes less power, but it’s way rev happier and (iirc - could be wrong and can’t be bothered to look it up) weighs less. The cutoff is 8k. I’m biased though because I have two 4As and love them to death.
