My gf’s reaction my excitement for the Miata

Kinja'd!!!

Manual club edition. Gonna see if I can test drive later

Kinja'd!!!

CX-3 is nice. Feels like a taller version of my 3. Isn’t it based on the new 2 though?

Kinja'd!!!

Same engine as my 3 but less power and bigger wheels. Seems like a poor decision for those who like acceleration.

Kinja'd!!!

This is how I wish my gauge cluster was: big tach in the center and digital speedo on the left instead of the other way around.

Kinja'd!!!

No center console, just arm rest and cup holder. No like

Is Mazda ever going to make a car with balls again? This sub-200hp lineup is getting real old, especially since I can get a Camry or Accord with almost 100hp over the top-spec 6.

I think it’s on the way. I’m really surprised the 6 doesn’t have a more powerful (FI?) 4 or 6 cylinder option. They’re peppier than the numbers would lead you to believe. The Miata is quicker across the board compared to the more powerful Toyobaru twins. I think since they have such little R&D money compared to larger companies they’re making as much off their 1.5 (worldwide), 2.0, and 2.5 engines.

I'm a big proponent for usable power. I have no interest in owning a massive horsepower car that I can't push without breaking laws or risking death unless I'm on a track. I think for the enthusiast crowd someone decided 200 hp was the benchmark though and Mazda needs to hit that if they want to draw in more of that slice of the pie.

There's actually significant space below it. You'd have to move it up to get to most drinks though

Nah. She's pretty awesome otherwise. I've already got the ok for a sports car when that used to be a flat out no so I think it'll just take time.

Blame the EPA and non standardized emissions regulations worldwide/between allies. I thought about holding out for a diesel until it became pretty clear there wouldn't be one for a while if at all. I imagine by the time I'm ready for a new car it'll be here or I'll be able to afford an EV and the wait won't matter

I just bought a 6 and your right they are peepier than the numbers show, and it has a sport mode. I just wish they strapped a turbo so it had some more power. But you can use all the power in the car which is nice and I can still pass people if need be.

It’s easier to ask for forgiveness than asking for it. Just bring it home sometime.
