“I’d rather ride a Magnum than drive a Caliber.”

Is there a word missing or is this quote actually this amazing?

It’s actually this amazing.

Yeah. Let me show up with some Magnums and see how fast he sits his ass behind the wheel of a Caliber.

IDK, he sounded genuinely willing, just so he wouldn't have to drive a Caliber.

It just makes me laugh, because I sort of feel like there hasn’t been a legitimately awful car in a long time. There’s a lot of mediocre ones, for sure, but people go to such extremes to put down the mediocre ones as if they were, say, a Renault Encore. Or a GM X-car.

The one trick a Caliber can pull off is looking bigger than it actually is. Looking at it from afar or in pictures you could swear it's something the size of a Land Rover but no.

But once you get up close, it's really small.

I think the caliber is legitimately awful.

I have three letters and one number to say in response to that. SRT4

I’ve been inside the Caliber. It has about 1/2 the interior space you think it should.
I’d be great if US auto manufacturers could stop making cars that are big in every way you don’t want. Lookin’ at you, Camaro...

Once, I was waiting at a light in my 944 and a light blue Caliber turned from the intersecting street. As it passed, the driver leaned out of the window and shouted, “That’s a nerd’s car!” I wasn’t even mad, because A. it’s not exactly untrue, and B. I just felt kind of bad for him that he thought being in a Caliber was such a position of unassailable coolness that he was able to throw insults at other people about their own cars.

My mom had a Caliber. It depreciated worse than most luxury cars, was noisy as hell to ride in, was way to small for a family of more than 2, it has no power, the interior is cheap flimsy plastic and the A pillars are so huge on the inside you are in legitimate danger of pulling our in front of a car you literally wouldn’t be able to see because of it. I took my drivers test in a full size Chevy truck instead of that because the truck was easier to parallel park. That car’s outward visibility is horrendous.

I don’t know, I’ve driven one and it really wasn’t that bad. Sure, it had that plasticky interior that plagued Mopars from that vintage, but other than that it was just another car. I think the last Cavalier was a lot worse than the Caliber.

I love undesirable cars with crazy drivetrains. The Saturn Ion Red Line was one of the most fun things I’ve ever driven.

...so out of curiosity, was this spoken by the president of VTEC, or the president of broken ringlands?

I believe it was VTEC...

Seems legit.
