A few days ago, I posted some pics of the fire fighting helicopters parked between us and the fire camp where the firefighters battling the North Star fire are set up. Today, we stopped in and were escorted out to the KMax to check it out up close and personal. My co-worker took quite a few great pics with his DSLR. I snapped this one and talked with the crew (dropping that I was an aircraft mechanic helped).
These guys have been ALL OVER fighting fires this year, and they fly it to all of the fires (except New Zealand). Pretty cool setup and super nice guys.
