I know someone already posted a New Order song, but I feel they deserve a second, this one also a remix for Substance ‘87. Also slightly good as driving music.

I’ll make this semi-car related.
This was the first song I heard on the radio the very night I picked up my Rabbit GTI back in 1984. Whenever I want to think of that wonderful moment I just cue up this song. It’s not necessarily the content of the song that has particular meaning, just that it was the first one I heard in that car.
Upon examining the lyrics, some of it may apply to that ownership experience:
“I hear your name in certain circles, and it always makes me smile. I spend my time thinkin’ about you, and it’s almost driving me wild” - It was a great car when it was running, and I had a lot of fun in those precious few moments.
“
There’s a message in the wire...
” - This car was an electrical nightmare, so there’s some truth there.
“I ain’t missing you, I ain’t missing you, I can lie to myself” - It was a love/hate relationship, and like all of those, when it was good it was great . I still want another Rabbit GTI, just not as my only car.
A lot of denial in that song, making it even more appropriate.
