She decided on a 2016 Subaru WRX STI HyperBlue Speical edition. She intends to immediately de-wing it and then DD it. We put down a deposit today! I’m glad she’s not a Corolla kind of person.

She’s planning on getting an unpainted trunk sans wing and getting it painted the right color and we’ll just keep it in the garage for when we want to sell it. (or something, either way, we won’t throw it away). She likes the performance but doesn’t want a park bench on the back of the car. STi’s come from the factory wingless now, and I happen to think they look pretty good.

I got so excited when a cute girl parked her older 2.5T AWD S60 right next to mine in the parking lot the other day. And I nearly screamed like a little girl when I saw some kid drove a 940 wagon into the parking lot (it was rough but still...wow)

Oh and I really should save all my reactions my dashcam picks up when I see something like a 240 or C30. I scream and go crazy to no one in particular :)

There’s an incredible fully restored 244 wagon going around my town lately. I’ve tried to talk to the owner, but its hard to talk at 55 MPH :(

We used to have a ton of older S40s when I started, but they’ve long gone. Then it was a few S70s. Now they are gone. Kinda sad to see my lot full of leased CUVs, bro trucks, and V6 pony cars...

Actually my school has an odd cross section of vehicles: tons of beaters, some more respectable 90s-2000s Japanese cars, a few older Euro vehicles (mostly in good shape), many mommy-mobiles, some nice newer cars, and a few car-guy cars (like one Eastern European guy who has a really tastefully modded red M3—simply stunning...)

Kind of like this, also with a Euro front plate as well as a Nurburgring sticker in the rear...

Is the new color a tri-coat? If so, be aware you most likely won’t get it to look the same as the rest of the paint.

Nah, the STi still comes with the wing. On the Limited trim, the “low profile” spoiler is a $0 option, but it still comes with the big wing as standard.

I’m not sure how the “Hyper Blue” model will be configured. Maybe there will be a low-profile option, maybe not (even if it’s a Limited model, which I expect it is). I’d guess it will probably come with the wing either way.
