Given that the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I was faced with one of three choices
1)tearing down that engine in the small hope that oil light coming on, followed by loud horrible noises, followed by engine dying doesn’t mean massive internal damage.
2)giving up, selling the car for peanuts and sinking more money into another cheap car in hopes that one doesn’t also have hidden problems.
3)finding another cheap ‘00-’02 Corolla/Prizm that runs but has other issues to pull the engine from, toss the new valve seals & piston rings in that engine and slot it into her car.
Looks like option 3 just became the best option. I found !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! about 1.5 hours away, and for $200 I can pretty much yank the motor and junk the rest and have little to no cash outlay for the new engine. That engine will get the new internal bits, and the best externals from both engines and hopefully we’ll have the car back up and running for little additional cost.
Of course I need to beg/borrow/rent an engine hoist as I sold mine off in the great culling of 2008.

Score, was just about to say cut and run, roll the beater dice again but that swap should work out nicely.
