I don’t have my math textbook yet because all the sophomores took them…so I have to use the online edition. Now this wouldn’t be a problem, but I discovered that the book wouldn’t open when using Safari, Firefox, and Chrome. So what’s the only browser that works with the book? That’s right. Internet Explorer. It’s giving me a massive headache.
It’s slow as hell, and the copy and paste is awful. And it even crashed my computer. So it’s been 40 minutes and I still haven’t done a single problem of homework.
Please help me with some cool cars if you can, Oppo.

I mean specifically the actual book title and publisher, etc...

It’s the Glencoe California Algebra 2 book. I have it working now, but IE is still kinda slow.

Is this a problem worth $20 to fix? $20 to rent for a year or pickup a copy for that much. How much is avoiding IE worth to you?

Damn that sucks

Rally S80! Cool enough for you? No?
How about a Koenigsegg Agera racing a Volvo FH Globetrotter then?
Side note: Hope you get your homework done, been in that situation before and hated it...are you currently a junior in high school? (I am...) Also, could you take a screenshot of the problems you need to do so you can just close the IE window as soon as possible and work off the saved image?

I always regret not learning California Algebra. I learned regular algebra in school but I can’t help but think of the advantages learning from a California book would offer.
/s (coming from someone who has never understood the State Edition books that are so common)

Shame. You could have learned about the difference in pollution when riding a bike instead of driving with the California edition.

I’m a freshman.
I have the IE window working, but you have inspired me to take a pic of the problems just in case.

If all goes well I should be able to pick up my book from the school library tomorrow.

Is it because the online textbook is using java? I’m not sure about safari but that would seem to be the only reason it works in IE and not chrome or firefox is some addon functionality that is being phased out.

Oh, haha, I took Algebra 2 as a freshman as well but for us it’s pretty common...I guess not so much at your school since the sophomores got the books? Anyways, good luck on the homework! (I should get going myself...)

That’s a cheaper option.

Have you tried finding a torrent or .pdf of the book? Here’s two links I found:
http://sault.eup.k12.mi.us/cms/lib/MI1700…
https://sites.google.com/a/gaston.k12.n…
Those two aren’t California-specific editions, but I did find one on a book torrenting website:

I think it’s using Adobe Reader. Not sure

If its using adobe it shouldn’t care what browser you are using but I hope you get a physical book tomorrow so you don’t have to deal with IE.

Why do I actually believe that that is probably a very real thing and is somehow used in textbook examples?

Ummm, have you tried Windows 10 and the Edge browser?
If you have a google drive I can send you a VM of a really good Windows 10 build

I’d like to stay on Windows 7.

Exactly you continue running W7, but you use VMWare and run a w10 “virtual machine”. Savvy?
