I really don’t mind the patina look, per se, but I really REALLY can’t stand fake rust on plastic parts.

Although its not the same for that beetle, I get the same vibe.

Yeah it’s super strange. I can only really understand patina when it’s actually earned over time.

Not really. My BIL has one, the one with the many headlights (1999-2001). He’s been driving it since 2008 or so and likes it, he even thinks it looks ‘at least’ as good as my 406 coupe. I call it Stockholm Syndrome.
