Not just any Sandero.
Dacia have been in business since 1966 and in all that time have never made a Dacia-badged car with less than three pedals, one of which has always been for the clutch. That’s right, Dacia have not until now been into automatic transmissions.
This is to change with the arrival, not of a conventional slush box but Renault’s automated manual which Dacia are going to call Easy-R.
Isn’t that exciting? It’s also not entirely correct as one of Dacia’s models is sold as the Renault Duster and is made with a torque converter automatic. Anyways, here’s what Easy-R looks like. Yes, it looks like a manual lever.

It has the pull back to upshift and forward to downshift? Every enthusiast who ends up with one will be content.

Yeah but the stripper model (racecar duh!) Won’t have it. In fact all you get is a 1.4l petrol engine, 5 speed manual, abs and esp (legal requirement) manual windows and a hole where a stereo should be.

Indeed, although the chances of an enthusiast getting into a Dacia of any persuasion could not be described as great.
In the event of he/she getting into a Fiat 500 the same layout would be found (not in North America, mind).
Mind you I find the push to change up layout more instinctive as it’s what you would do on a conventional automatic.
