Did you guess I was doing my brakes today? Did the pads so far and thinking about diving in to the stainless steel lines and a flush which I have everything for but I’m so damn lazy. Down to my issue, the majority of my pads were fine, with even wear and could have lasted a bit longer but my drivers front were a bit wonky. In the picture the pad on the left is the outside. It was a good bit more worn than the inside and has a crack coming from the center vent area. Any reason for this? Failing piston in the brake? Is the crack bad and possibly what was causing the noise I was hearing? I have all new pads on so I’m just curious and definitely not putting these back on. Also, this is a terrible photo what the hell was I focusing on?

with sliding calipers one will always wera down faster. If you think about it only one is getting pushed on by the piston so it does more of the work.

But the inside would be getting pushed on while the outside would be pulled on and the outside is more worn. I would just think that, if anything, the inside pad would be more worn.

You need to grease your caliper slide pins. Your pads should be wearing evenly.

Could the caliper be backwards?

Nope. The brake line would be sticking in to the wheel.
