Yes please! I would DD the **** out of this. The 3.0 V8 + oxford/tan = E34 heaven. Screw your M5, I want a strange little V8 with fewer horsepower than a new GTI.

“Performance breaks”. Got it. Also, because it needs repeating, 110k miles is not “low miles”. Fucking anything over 100k miles is not low miles. 80,000 isn’t low miles, either.

i just pulled my nikisil (notoriously shitty block) v8 out of my e34 530i and the cylinderwalls look perfect and the heads looked brand new, i bought it with 140k and drove the piss out of it for 10k lol. i’d do a compression test and decide the state of the engine from there

as a e34 530i owner: do it!!!! it’s been an awesome year with my car and the past few months i’ve been working on a larger v8 swap. i’d recommend it strongly. that little v8 is fast enough to have tons of fun, but in the end of the day won’t get you in too much trouble. there’s something about winding out a small displacement v8 to 6k that i’ve never experienced in another car. The lowend torque pushes, and then it keeps pulling you forward with typical bmw high rpm n/a power. a truly sick sensation

You sure it wasn’t one of the engines that BMW replaced?

Does that mean the performance is broken, or the car will break in a performance manner?

i suppose it may be low miles for age.

“infrequently driven” might be more precise.

Better for sure, but I don’t think you can look at the age of a vehicle and compare it to the miles driven. Did they put 110,000 miles on it from 1994 - 2004 and park it, or have they only driven it 20 miles a day since new?

Sounds fun! But I actually just bought a Q45, and I’ve had my fill of 90s BMW maintenance through my friends E36! Best of luck with your E34 though! I will get back into expensive plastic parts and thrilling drives at some point lol. I miss my 1989 635. It had the M30B35 from the e34!

Agreed, the plebeians don’t understand the difference between “low average mileage” and “low mileage.”
