Fuel pump is repaired, all new brake components up front, and a set of new plug wires later, and she is back on the road.
Aside: On the inaugural drive,I got stuck behind two different slow pokes at different points. It takes talent to go too slow for 50hp.

Looking good. I always liked Karmann Ghias. I tried to buy one way back in high school but my parents wouldn’t let me spend my money on anything without airbags. Probably not the worst rule for a 16-year-old, but back then you could actually still find Karmann Ghias around in decent shape for cheap. Oh, well.

Thanks!
Believe it or not, I actually picked this one up for $3300. Mostly original (re-sprayed in the original color is the only non-original thing), rust free, 57k miles, and I’m the second owner. It had been sitting for about 7 years when I bought it, but a few hundred in parts later and here I stand. The key is to get really damn lucky.
