Kinja'd!!!

Took Woodward home from working on the car at a friend’s house. Decided to see some cars and parked at the shell. I thought it was funny to park my rusty race car next to nice cars.

Also today, I managed to finally break my trailing arm bolts loose. I can finally weld the rtab reinforcements next weekend.

those RTAB reinforcements are nice.... Did you get the 3-piece ones from Bimmerworld or the AKG Motorsport single-piece design?

I did that on my E36 a few years ago. The AKG part hadn’t come out yet

side note: I’m not convinced they need to be welded in... I think some really good structural epoxy (like BMW prescribed on the E46 rear subframe recall procedure) should work just as well.

To clear the underbody coating, just use some paint scrapers

AKG. I have friends who can help me get them welded in. Did you drop the whole hub assembly or just remove the bolts around the pocket?

Ah I didn’t notice it in the first picture. Now that all the bolts are loose I’m thinking the surface prep will take the longest
