They’re on the moon right now from all four tires exploding simultaneously.

The old ways are still the best ways.

It sounds like they work fine, as long as you get a tire that actually has white under the side. I’d say get a set of junkyard tires and try it out.

I can’t nail the exact Miata.net thread but if you want painted tire lettering, one guy gave a pretty clear and easy method that doesn’t involve risking your safety or others on the road.

Remove wheels and tires from vehicle.

Clear tires with Simple Green or some other de-greasing solution to provide the best surface to paint.

Use masking tape if you want to ensure your unsteady hands don’t mess this up.

Use oil-based painting pens from Michaels/Hobby Lobby/etc on your lettering.

Bam! Painted lettering that won’t come off in rain! The OP said he’s done it with his Evo 8 track car and his weekend Miata, both have seen wet conditions and the paint’s stayed intact for over 3 months.

Pretty sure someone actually makes tire paint.

Pretty sure they do, the way listed above is just a cheap way of getting things done quick.

Well you see here in America, we got a little thing called freedom. George Washington had a chainsaw fight with Queen Victoria to get us that freedom. As a result of him kicking her Deadite ass, we can now do whatever we want, son.
