Paging Tire experts, what kind of slightly aggressive all-terrain tires could I fit on a set of 18” Land Rover wheels? Also, does anyone know where one could find complete sets of OEM wheels? Re. Not ebay, paypal is the devil and I have already been searching craigslist.

\I am seriously digging on these style wheels

I had good luck with General Grabber AT2s on my Jeep when I had it. They were cheap and worked well, especially in snow. Not all sizes are snowflake rated though if you need that.

They looked pretty sweet too, which is obviously important.

These worked great on my Silverado for DD and loose sand/mud. Inexpensive as well

Well, check how much they are at your local tire people. It’s is still my choice for you

Search me, the Rovers we have are all on 16”s.

I have those on my Land Cruiser at the moment. Pretty good for the price. I still prefer Duratracs though.

What size of tire are you looking for? Also, what climate will the vehicle be used in? If you encounter snow or ice, getting Severe Service rated tires goes a long ways.

Running those now, great tire. But they are a bit small now that I have lifted the rig

Thanks, wonder what the life is on these?

Be mindful I will be adding another 3-450lbs in overlanding gear and people weight

It will likely just be dirt tracks, some rock, Mud if we head to Georgia. Looking at going to SCARR, Rovers on the Rocks, and maybe a Rover event in Vermont of Maine next yuear

That opens up a lot more options then. While I love my severe service rated, most tires aren't. If you can stand the noise, you may want to look into mud terrains as well.

“I can’t offer advice on sane offroady tires for 18” wheels, because the Series Rovers we have run on 16”s and about half are running silly tractor-like tires” was what I meant.

overall diameter you are aiming for?

My Silverado was primarily a work truck hauling heavy commercial A/C gear and towing a trailer full of materials to job sites all over the TX Gulf coast. No complaints here :]

Mud terrains are a bit too “Bro-ey” for me, just saying

My current overall diameter on the stock 16’s and General Grabber AT2’s is around about 28-29”

So I think that 32” would be a good jump up in size but also not ungainly to intermittently drive on road. The key to remember is the additional weight of, front and rear bumpers, ARB fridge, dual battery, baja rack, RTT, eventually a winch, rear and front lockers, front locker, rear locker, fuel tank, and steering guards, a chihuahua, up to 5 days of provisions.

Potentially build rear loadspace toolboxes at some point.

I wouldn't throw super swampers on it, but something like Nitto Trail Grappler or Cooper Discoverer STT would give you the added traction without looking like a douche poseur. Otherwise if cost is a factor the General Grabber AT2 are pretty aggressive while still being cost effective.

Excellent, did you do this before becoming Senor Volvo/Aston/Lotus Suave?

265/65R18 might be a good size. its 31.5 which is plenty for a disco I would think. You can get KO2’s or Duratrac in that size. You can also get Ko2 in a skinnier taller 255/70R18 that would work well. Those rimes are 8.5 so you could go as wide as 315 but you would never fit a 315 on a disco with that lift.

I really can’t stand the horrible lifespan of superswampers (also I don;t need that much rubber) and the Nitto’s are douchebro central man.

315 would require wheel spacers right? (point of failed traction in 3, 2, 1)

315 is big on a 3 inch list FZJ80. I mean, it requires bumps stops and some triming and this that and the other....etc. Bad idea on an overland disco since they are basically 35’s. All im saying is that your width margin for those rims is between 245-315 mm tires. If it were me I would go no bigger than. 31.5-32.

I was a tech here with those four brands for a couple years then did commercial A/C for about a year then came back to the same place but for parts.

My dad has a company and was suuuper backed up. My ultra rad boss let me leave to help him out and held my job til I got back after things settled down.

I’m pretty sure 5th gen Camaro wheels are 5x120mm. May or may not be interesting.
