This reminds me of a story.
A new rider was prepping his bike in the pits when a more experienced rider stopped by. The older rider commented on how fast the new rider must be. The new rider asked how the experienced rider could know this given that this was his first race. The experienced rider said that he could tell by all of the sponsor stickers on the side of his bike and then walked away.
The new rider took out a heat gun to start removing stickers....
I can’t remember when/where/in what context I heard that story, but it always stuck with me. I’ve never been a fan of stickers and don’t put them on anything I own. My cousin had a habit of plastering them on everything - cars, trucks, toolboxes, boom-boxes, his windows, his bedroom door - and it really didn’t matter who the sticker came from or whether or not he used their product. If the sticker looked cool, he stuck it on something. I always knew that a sticker I picked up wouldn’t go to waste. I just gave them to him. :)

I only did the one side as it had a lot of scratches and the paint sucked.

Just sayin’....
The stickers are going to be a pain to remove once you decide to repaint your ride.

I tryed that. The scratchs are REALLY deep (more like gugoes) from when i low sided after getting a brand new tire installed.
As for painting: meh. Bike is going to live and die by my hands, one way or another

Ah.
I’ve always liked the SV, but I think my next bike will be more of an adventure bike like a BMW R1200 or the Yamaha TDM 850.

If you ever decide you want to fill the gouges you can sand back a little bit, buy a few things of ABS welding rod and fill them in using a wood burner. File until smooth and then you could respray. Or just fill them in with flexible bumper filler, and respray.

Awesome! I typically stay in Lisbon or Ericeira (just north of it, awesome place), but have stayed in a hotel in the Algarve before.
