People who say “on line” instead of “in line”

You get in line. You do not get on line unless you’re in front of your computer.

Unless your computer is in a line of multiple computers. Then you go on line on your in line computer.

What’s really bad is people who say they bought something “offline” when they mean they bought it on the internet.

ooh! ooh! ooh! Call on me next!
People who say, “I got this off-line” when they mean, I got it “off the internet,” like you might say “I bought it off a friend” except, no, that’s not really a great way to say it anyway. You bought it “online.” You bought it “from” a friend.

I always figured it was some weird british thing, like how they say “In hospital” instead of “in the hospital”
