It has a roll cage and possibly other things done to it. It’s RHD and really cool. It’s old enough to register here and DD it. I’m not really in the market for a car right now, but.... I’m seriously tempted.

I love it. But I don't always make very logical decisions.

If I don’t buy it, you should!

I don’t even know how much it would cost to ship a car overseas... But that would probably be a problem for me, too.

Probably $1000-$3500 CDN depending where you live to get it to your door, not including customs/import fees.

I LOVE the Alto Works as well, but apparently the first generations have a bad habit of rusting underneath, although the bodies last OK. Also, a lot of them have been driven hard, so it’s tricky to find one in decent mechanical shape that wasn’t abused. I really like the 3rd-gen Alto Works - would prob be my choice if I were importing one! :)

Kinja'd!!!

My preference though would be to wait until 2017 and import a Suzuki Alto Lapin SS :P

I so want a kei car.

But the good ones are going to be available in a year. The Beat. The Cappuccino. I’d hold out.

My roommate has a Suzuki Alto for sale in Detroit right now, with a clear Michigan title. He brought it over from Japan himself.

Very good point!

Still, those are going to cost quite a lot for quite a while. This is a pretty decent price.

It is, but all-in he’s got like $11k sitting there and it’s tricky to find a buyer. It’s really really clean, though. A lot nicer shape than the one you posted.

I can tell. Hopefully he’ll find someone to take it! I probably would if I had any disposable income.

He’s from PA originally, actually. I think he was asking $12k for it, which is damn near what he has in it with shipping and everything.
