I even played around with different tunings (on that calcuator) Maybe it was an open E tuning? Nope, still bad. Drop D? Nope still bad.

This gets you a 9th fret F#/C# Major when you use the #blessed open tuning of

E A D A# C E

To be honest, with all the muted strings he probably has in that shot, this is probably what is sounds like.
