In the 10 years that I worked at Kinko’s, the last 4 or so as Production Manager, that was our mantra. Tell ‘em it’s going to take two hours, get it done in one, you look like a genius. But it also gives you built-in wiggle room should shit go sour.

I always deliver anything that I promise. But then people want things I didn’t promise or didn’t even say I’d try to get them because I knew it was impossible.

Yes that is a frustrating daily occurance. I do anything I can to leave a paper trails because frankly I’ve been burned once too many.
