I bought the Focus. Runs/Drives good. Body is in very good shape for a 10 year old midwestern car. Everything works. (antenna mount is broken, I have the antenna) I finally am getting good driving manual!

The SVT Focus suspension bolts right up to that car. It’s also super inexpensive.

Is the SVT engine super inexpensive too???

Why a base Focus? It isn’t even the SVT. Just curious why you settled on these cars when you can have so much better for the money.

$2550, no body rot, CHEAP insurance

I hope mine runs perfect until I sell it too!

No. And you honestly don’t want one. If you have the 2.3L Duratec, it responds to mods way better than the SVT Zetec does.
And the SVT uses a bunch of different components, so you cannot easily swap one in. If you really wanted an SVT, you should have bought one as it’s very much a bespoke car rather than a trim package.

You got a good deal. I don’t know about the Illinois used car market but in SF where everything is price gouged, that car would sell for $5,000.

He’s better off without the SVT. The insurance would be higher, it’s less economical, needs premium, and isn’t fond of neglect.
I have one, number 85 off the line. I adore it, but one has to know what they’re getting into when buying an SVT.

Who the hell would pay $5000 for that????
For $5000 I probally would have bought a Mustang or BMW

I just want a car with a stick that will last (hopefully) until I graduate from college and can afford a new car (then I’ll buy somthing fast)

SF...where you need to pay $2k a month for a studio apartment. It’s also easy to make money, so that’s why all the other prices are high. I paid almost 4k for my Miata, but that is just the going rate around here for clean examples.

You could have found far worse. Ad the SVT suspension, seats if you can find them, keep it running and you’ll have a great car to see you along toward your future.

$2K would buy up to a $500,000 house here depending how long you want your mortgage to last
what year is your Miata?

This was the US facelift, they were already out of production for Europe (2005). The earlier ones looked closer to the European counterpart.
Then we got the halfassed 2008 ‘redesign’ before we got the world Focus again in 2011

After 25 years, we replaced the passenger window mechanism, and the driver side is slowing down. If you press the buttons at the same time, the passenger window is down in half the time it takes the driver window.
