The Landwind X7 has released in China.
It is offered with a 2.0T sourced from Mitsubishi, providing 190 horsepower, a 6-speed MT or an 8-speed AT, and also sharing a rather striking resemblance to the Range Rover Evoque.
What makes it more attractive to consumers, though, is it’s price. The X7 starts at about $19,000, while the Chinese-made, REAL Evoque, will set you back around $64,000 (imported version costs even more).
The Landwind represents a huge savings over the Evoque, which costs more than 3 times more.
But to some people, merely owning a Land Rover look-a-like to falsely impress their friends, is not even enough! Now, dealers are satiating the thirst that buyers have for ways to add more deceit and trickery...
By adding “real” Land Rover grilles as a dealer option. What amazes me is that this is sold in dealers. But so are BYD dealers, selling Lexus badging for their RX lookalike, the S6. This is not a new thing in China.
But if you aspire to own an Evoque, and are too cheap to pay the $96 for a mere grille, visit Taobao to buy a complete Badge and Grille set for the X7!
Okay, this counterfeiting has gone too far.

I’ve always wondered just how poor the build quality is on these knockoffs. I know that Chinese cars are horrific in crash tests, but was just curious how bad the cars were otherwise. Not that I would ever buy one, just curious how they could sell with how poor I perceive their quality to be.
