Np! Just for the rarity of these things

not scared it was hooned in its last life?

those are auto only :(

I’m pretty sure manual ones exist. They’re just hyper rare.

Not the Sportcross, at least in the U.S. But I would assume it would be a straightforward swap though.

The wheels, the price? I’m pretty sure I’d have to be...

I stand corrected.

Yup, all automatic. Good price if its bone stock and taken care of (I.e. Timing belt at 90k, no exceptions!)

Just when I am looking at one of these for a commuter...you had to post one up the entire length of US away from me.

Tbh I’m super surprised that there are any for sale around here. They are so damn uncommon. Other than this one the next closest one is over 400 miles away.

Yeah some sellers know how rare the Sportcross is so they will mark it up an extra 2 grand >.>
I’d settle for the sedan too though. The IS300s are apparently better handlers than the E46 when you get the alignment right. Not surprising since it has double wishbones in all corners.

I like it.
Even though I’m not a big fan of sedans, I wouldn’t mind getting the sedan version of one of these if I can find a decent one with a manual, preferably with the big motor. The taillights and instruments are a bit goofy, but overall it seems like a decent car, and one of the few Lexi I would be interested in.

Especially with the stock LSD. I had L-Tuned (rebranded eibach) sway bars and the stock LSD on my manual IS300. It would take corners and eat them up.

Where is this wonderful IS300 and why is it not with u now?

Something that puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

Ah I see..FWD is not my thing but I guess if you like it. Good for you!
![]() 08/06/2015 at 23:02 |

That’s how I felt about FWD until I bought this car. My previous 5 cars were all RWD.
![]() 08/06/2015 at 23:41 |

I mean, it’s fine if you find the car fun. It has a turbo, an LSD, and it’s kind of light. That’s probably the source of the fun, not the understeer. But if that engine, transmission, and differential, was replicated into a RWD chassis of the same weight, it would be way better. Right?
![]() 08/07/2015 at 09:29 |
|
Not necessarily. It doesn’t really understeer the way you think it would, and it has TONS of grip. It’s not just a small car with tons of power, you can really feel it actively working. Put it this way. Would you rather have an Integra Type R, or a base V6 Mustang beause it’s RWD?

Hahaha of course the ITR. That’s not a fair comparison though. I could just as easily compare the MS3 against the FD RX-7, and even then those are more comparable. Which would you choose? :)
![]() 08/07/2015 at 09:36 |
|
MS3. I love the looks of the RX, but that rotary is shit. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE RWD, and I loved my IS300. But FWD can be fun at times..;)
![]() 08/07/2015 at 09:39 |

Oh..wow okay you got me there. Really the only comparable car would be one that doesn’t exist. Like a turbo FR-S. Around 270 hp, lightweight, with same close ratio 6 speed and torsen. Okay now which one.
![]() 08/07/2015 at 09:43 |
|
Still the MS3, just due to the fact that it was already built to be a turbo. One of my Supras was turbo and just a few breathing mods netted me around 50+hp. I can imagine that FR-S with an extra 70hp is already pushing it. Side-note, I want to get my daughter an FR-S as her first car, but she doesn’t like the look of it.

Really..? If she finds the twins ugly, what does she think looks good? Make sure to put her in a manual. She won’t be texting and driving thats for sure. What about a Miata then? She may like the look of that.

She wants an NA. She loves the pop-ups..=D But of course, being a dad I need something a bit bigger and safer. She wants a hard-top, too.

Oh come on, don’t be such a dad! Surprise her with a nice, unmolested, color of her choice NA. She can join the club! And hey, its not like she wants a sportbike. Just be glad she doesn’t want a Honda CR-V or something.
