Just a reminder that Jeep survives on the tears of US customers. Why else would they roll out such amazing concept vehicles year after year that could easily be built and then refuse to build them?

Because they like seeing you suffer.

The amount of manual 4wd Jeeps that are actually taken offroad is nothing compared to the amount of Jeeps given to high school age kids.

Oh, you liked the FC concept? That’s too bad, we aren’t going to make it.

Seriously, this thing could have had at least some market share in the truck market.

I suspect I’ve done more trail driving with the Silverado than what is done with most Jeeps. Especially Jeeps with cosmetic mods only.

There’s a guy in the parking garage at my office with a Warn winch bumper cover (with the rollers for the cable), but no winch.

Wow, haha. About 75% of the Jeeps I see are owned by spoiled high school girls. Usually in white and automatic.

Or something that was actually sold, a Land Rover Series II Forward Control. Give Land Rover some credit...They did actually sell it...

To hell with practicality or crash safety, I would have legitimately bought this (and not in the way people say they would buy things on the internet)

I don’t get why they couldn’t sell a milder version of this. You can already get the same style for a delivery truck. It would definitely need to be lower, with regular axles. Possibly classed as a 3/4 ton truck as well.

This one is blue, automatic, Unlimited, has had the solid doors replaced with tube frame doors (again, jackiechan.jpg), and has the convertible top.

I should take a picture of it next time I see it. I’ve also considered transfer case into neutral, and pushing it into another parking spot.

Not that anyone should do that, but it would be incredibly funny.

Realistically, a Wrangler diesel would use either the same 3.0 V6 that’s in the Grand Cherokee, or the 3.0 I4 that’s in the Promaster van. Reason being that both are certified in the US, and both fit in the same place the gas V6 fits.

That said, I think a non-removable roof option would go over well. Something for colder climates, or an option where people buy hard tops but never remove them.

A Cabover Jeep chassis cab? Hell, I’d get a CDL to drive that. :D

Given the popularity of the hard top 4 door Wrangler I think there is a definite longing for a 4 door hardtop jeep that wants to play. The VM R428 would be perfect for the wrangler, since the 3.0 V6 is a much more costly engine to produce and all. What I find interesting is that VM motori was once joint owned by Fiat and GM so thats why there are gm trucks and FCA trucks with their engines, but since 2013 when FCA bought out GM...is GM just buying their engines from FCA? The new diesel in the Colorado will literally be an FCA engine.

OK, corrected.

But they didn’t sell a production version of the FC concept. Which is a shame, because it would have been good.

Im really hoping for great things with the next Wrangler. I feel Chrysler & the people at Jeep get it.

The FC concept is seriously awesome, but would have been ridiculously expensive to build as is even ignoring FMVSS. The portal axles on it are approaching $30k for the set.
