Our new metal driveway ramp combines functionality and style. I designed the piece and commissioned a local metal artist who used a Torchmate Plate Marker machine to etch the 1/4” steel slab with one of my favorite quotes and an outline of my G8.

If you have the means, I highly suggest picking one up.

Please excuse, what is driveway plate?

Here in Colorado we’re subject to flash flooding so the gutters are usually pretty deep to handle the rain. Two of my cars are low enough to scrape the front air dam so we created this.

I need something like this. I have to enter my driveway at an angle or a scrape every time. And my car is only lowered an inch.

If you weren’t ignorant of the stance life you’d know this

Really? You used a slogan like that, and you drive a Cimarron?

Has there ever been a more boring Cadillac?

Have you driven one?

That slogan.....and you’re driving a J-Body? A Cimmaron no less? As oppo’s resident Cadillac guy, that offends me. On behalf of Cadillac enthusiasts everywhere, please crush it. If you don’t, I’m going to have to.

Responses like the one above are proof that the Cimarron is not boring. You’re welcome.

Yeah. It wasn’t a lot better than the Cutlass Ciera my girlfriend at the time had...

I’d rather drive a Z24, and I feel dirty even saying that .

No....responses like that one kinda show quite the opposite. Nothing about the Cimarron makes it more than a gussied up Cavalier. It may be the most interesting J-Body, but it’s by no means an interesting car . The only J-Body that sold worse was the Firenza.

Nah, the most interesting J-Body is the Skyhawk T-Type.

I don't follow your logic. Hated/shitty doesn't mean interesting.

What, the fastback? The only interesting thing about that are the rear window louvers!

And turbo! And grand national steering wheel, and fall down headlights. (My dad had one hahahaha)

Still, more interesting than the Cimmaron.

Ya, it’s a gussied-up Cavalier. 0-60 in under 10 seconds; available with a manual; actual leather interior; Bose audio system; MacPherson suspension. Still boring? Why you mad, bro?

Ok, MAYBE....but it’s still a J-body. I can’t think of anything you could do to one that wouldn’t make it miserable to drive.

Yeah, still boring. Still miserable to drive. Still malaise era design that stuck around well past wearing out its welcome. Nothing about those features makes it interesting . Nothing about those features makes it not boring . I can get just about any car on the market with those features, or better, and it won’t be some wobbly, 1980s American econobox.

It also doesn’t mean boring. Boring means uninteresting. The fact that this thread already has so many comments proves my point.

That’s like saying just because 20 people called Toyota Camry a boring piece of shit that makes it interesting.

As a Cadillac enthusiast and former owner, I say don’t crush it. It may be the runt of the family, but it’s part of the brand’s history. It shows just how much they tried with what they were given, and that's why I believe it should be respected.

I was onboard with the Cimarron until the V badge. Dude..
