We went to a car show last night called “Cruisin the ‘boro,” in Murphysboro, IL. I thought it would be more cruising around a town square type of deal but it wasn’t, I was kind of disappointed in that respect. It was still cool though, they closed off about 3 blocks around the town square and you can park on the street or in a couple of parking lots. They do it the first Saturday of every month during the Summer. I think we will be going back next month.

There was some awesome cars there, alot of them had “Power Tour 2015” stickers on the windshield, it was cool to see that some of them get driven. It was 99% old American cars with one MG, a couple of C7’s, and some newer Mustangs and Challengers thrown in.

First up the Lincoln. I don’t have many cleaning supplies (fucking movers, grumble, grumble, grumble) but, the other day I bought a pack of 7 micro-fiber towels to add to the rest I have when they get here. I used those and some quick detailer to half ass wipe down the car. For future reference 7 towels is not enough to clean a 1970’s land barge.

Every summer I get the urge to buy and old CJ-5 or CJ-7, just so I can ride around with the roof off. This did not help stop that urge.

Silver on red Olds, Oh face time.

Nice photo dump! That first ‘Impala’ is actually a ‘61 Oldsmobile.

I wasn’t really sure on what was going on with that. They rest of the car was super clean, the paint on the bumpers looked pretty rough. I was thinking maybe the owner bought them with the intent of getting them chromed but, threw them on to drive it for the summer.

I am thinking Tuesday or Wednesday, everything was supposed to be at the delivery warehouse on Friday. IF, it arrived there we should just be waiting for it to get delivered. I think we have adapted to having no furniture, the only thing that sucks is not having the washer and dryer. Laundromat’s are expensive and a pain in the ass.

Was it all in one of those pod things? Yeah man get your stuff and get that car detailed!

Basically ya, it wasn’t the actual Pod company though. They put everything in boxes, than into huge wooden crates than into a 40 foot shipping container.

The manager that came out to the house the last day they were packing told me that all moving companies are going to that way of moving stuff. Buying and maintaining the normal huge moving trailers is way more expensive then the shipping containers and frame trailers.

I really want to detail it. I don’t think I am going to polish it though. I am worried I am going to fuck up the original paint. I think I am going to wash it, claybar it, and put a few coats of wax on it.

How’s the little one?

Oh yeah I would just clay bar it and see if you can get that top to shine up.

He’s doing really good. He basically just eats, sleeps and shits and this point but we’re lucky he’s a chill little dude. Sleeps through the night which is a bonus!

I can’t wait to clean the top. I think it’s going to look way better with a little soap and water and some kind of protectant/wax.

That is awesome that he sleeps through the night already. Everyone I know with kids says that is the worst part. Sounds like you got very lucky.

I thought the same thing when I first saw it from the back. Then I saw the front and realized I am completely okay with a slammed Mack truck. He should have used a bed that complimented the lines of the cab. But, it is still cool as hell IMO.

I like it, but if I’m slamming a semi I’d rather keep the rear as is.

I get that too. If I was doing it I would want a bed. It’s not like I would be using an old slammed semi to haul trailers. The bed would make it practical and I could use it for pickup truck stuff.
