Mr. King posted this to his Facebook, with the caption: “With J.J. Abrams, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and Christine on the set of 11/22/63.”

If you aren’t a fan of Steve or his books, I suggest you go out and read 11/22/63. It’s a very interesting book in which a man from common times goes back in time to try and stop the J.F.K. assassination. I’m sure the movie will leave out a lot, but the way the book was written you can just about SMELL the air back then.

Anyways, you all know who Christine is.... and if she makes a cameo in the movie I hope Mr. Abrams doesn’t lens flare the shit out of her.... but come to think of it, she was pretty well lit up and lens flare-y in the original movie.

I’m a King fan, but I’ve never read this one. My mom read it (she’s not a typical King reader) and loved it. Need to see if it’s on audiobook.

Have you read Duma Key? Loved that one.

I really liked that book. I thought it was an inventive take on the whole genre. Didn't hurt that I've been a King fan for 20+ years.

Hang on a second...

Christine wears 1956 California plate CQB 241.

If she was re-registered in Texas in 1960, then brought back to California, she wouldn’t still wear her original California plates.

Kinja'd!!!

So either this can’t be Christine, or it breaks movie canon. Which I don’t understand, it would’ve been really really easy to put the California plates on her instead of the tongue-in-cheek Texas ones (56-CH90, 56 Christine, yes yes very clever).

Most of the movie takes place in Texas, so maybe they’re making a gag out of it?

Got the audiobook and I’m about 2.5 hours in. You’re right, the writing is incredible vivid, even for King.

But the book took place in the Pittsburgh area, so I don’t even know what’s happening.

I know, that always annoyed me. Why’d they have to change it?

I picked up the audio book to keep me company during my long summer drives. It’s about 10 hours one-way to get to my in-laws’ house.

The story is a good one. The unabridged version of the audio book is almost 31 hours long. I had a couple of days of entertainment at work after the trip.

Just finished this yesterday. Might be the best King book I’ve ever read.

Sidenote: I didn’t understand your older username (Takuro Spirit...) until one of those last chapters where he returns to Maine.

Another great book(s) of his I recommend reading. They’re not everyone’s cup of tea, but if you like really really long LOTR type stuff, you might get into The Dark Tower.

The first book starts out a little rocky, the second is better, the third (where they see a Takuro Spirit in a parking lot!) is where I started, and is the best of the series IMO.
