So I was driving by a nearby park the other day, and I spotted 6, YES 6 VW things, here be the photodump (kind of), it was a car club of VW Things based out of Boise ID.
This is apparently an upgraded 1850cc engine compared to the orginal 46 hp 1600cc engine
I also got a VW Thing model car from one of the people there, but sadly I don’t have a picture of it.

I want two things, one lifted, one slammed.
the lifted a milled baja, subie powered for lots of desert fun.
The slammed on a bit of a ratrod with a VW engine still carbed for the sound more than anything else.

install hydraulics ala lowrider, and you can have both (and a really sore back and butt).

yeah i think Roadkill figured out that doesn’t work as planed. Maybe bagged though. You wouldn’t get a lift that big, or that slammed. But i bet you could go from lowered to lifted with a flip of a switch and a tire/wheel change.

you could just Zues off the fenders like the muscle truck and fix mud-terrains (that really worked :P

i literally
smelled
a Thing today: someone at my work drives one occasionally and when they drove past me today I thought, “
ah, the smell of an exhaust system without a catalytic converter. nice.
” sounded neat, too...
