My union asked me to go to Monterey this year but I would have to be away from home 15 days, it’s bad enough doing the LA auto show for 6 days on the set up. I would like to see the cars but I would be working the whole time anyway, I said no.

I don’t believe Hamilton owns a Koenig. This particular Koenigesegggegegeg is owned David Heinemeier Hansson, but was driven by Lewis on the Gumball 3000 this year.

Now if they asked me to work a certain hillclimb in England I would do it. I have done Monterey before, I build and set up exhibits for shows and this one is all outdoors and most of the people are a pain in the ass. I don’t really get to have fun. I did the America’s Cup and it was pretty rough too. I’m going to teach a rigging class instead.

A better use of your time, no doubt. It’s good to have choices, especially if you’ve already done it. Fun also to teach newcomers or even those in the know a new trick or two. Very rewarding when they get it right. Have fun!

Which days will you be there? I’m planning on attending Thursday and Friday as I have to be back in Sonoma on the weekend, but at least I’ll get to see the Tour d’Elegance and day 1 of the Historics, plus a few auctions.
