... I think I found the rest.

Kinja'd!!!

I was driving in northeastern Illinois and noticed an orange blur on the side of the road. It turns out it was a cage full of Chargers! Well, mostly Chargers. At least 17-18 if my quick count was correct.

Street View has images from as far back as 2007, and even though there’s been some motion they are still there.

August 2012:

Kinja'd!!!

April 2012: (Bonus Miata!)

Kinja'd!!!

October 2008:

Kinja'd!!!

July 2007: (General Lee in the center)

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

There’s a sign on the door, but nobody was there when I went past. There was once a sign by the street, but only the signpost remains.

I’m not really sure I want to call the phone number on the building, but I’m definitely curious if this is someone who is actually trying to sell them, or just a collector who happens to have very visible outdoor storage. Obviously that last photo shows someone working on something. Maybe I’ll check it out the next time I’m in the area.

Are all of the Confederate battle flags on the roofs painted over?

My brother and I used to watch D of H before it was in re-runs and they always had poor editing and we saw cars obviously getting destroyed. That show deserves some sort of recognition for the number of Chargers they destroyed.

Reminds me of Stephens Performance in Anderson, AL, but a much smaller scale. All of this is Mopars, they also have one of the original Vanishing Point Challengers.

They say that the show destroyed somewhere between 256 and 321 of them. The 2005 movie apparently took another 30 or so.

As for the ones I saw, none that I noticed had any flag or numbers on them. There were a bunch of orange ones, but none that looked especially like a General Lee.

It looks like they also may have one or two of the sheriff dept cars as well.

Interesting. It’s like he’s collecting stunt cars that didn’t get destroyed. Lets face it, they only need to look somewhat like it when you’re doing a stunt. I doubt any of these were ever the Hero car. It even looks like he has at least one of the Monacos that Roscoe drove.

Good call! I should have pointed out the white Monacos. I forgot that’s what Rosco and Enos drove!
